To complete this module successfully you should use all the knowledge and skills that you have gained from level 1 modules such as: Principles of Management, Introduction to Financial Accounting, Cost Accounting, Business Mathematics and Statistical Skills, Level 2 modules such as: Advanced Accounting, Corporate Accounting, Management Accounting, Foundation to Business Strategy and Business Law and Taxation. This module helps you in developing the skills that are required for starting and managing your own small business.

Brand Management and Innovations (BMI)
Business Management

Branding combined with innovation is crucial to successful growth and increased profits. Hence, knowledge of both new product development and branding is a vital element of any successful marketing programme. Drawing on the knowledge of marketing especially ‘product concept’ and ‘positioning’ from level 1 this module at level 2 further builds branding elements and strategies leading to a comprehensive marketing programme.

International Finance (IF)

This module is designed to enable students to gain an understanding of the environment within which International Financial decisions are made. It examines the institutional framework of the international monetary and financial systems and builds awareness of the current issues in the study of International Financial Markets. It thus provides a sound theoretical basis for topics such as Foreign Exchange Markets, Exchange Rate determination, and Direct Foreign Investments.
Quantitative Techniques in Accounting and Finance (QTAF)

This module is designed to provide the students with some essential statistical and quantitative skills that support in making decision approaches. The module also develops the ability of solving, formulating and modelling of business problem in quantitative techniques that are much required in today business world. This module further develops the essential quantitative techniques in management sciences which can assist organisations in decision-making under uncertainty and risk. It’s also to familiarise the students with the concepts of resource optimisation.

Business Law & Taxation (BLT)
Business Management

Business law and taxation is a module which prepares students to have an insight into the legal terms and essential elements required to make a binding contract. It also prepares students to understand the taxation in general and Omani taxation in particular. At the end of the module students will be able to compute the corporate tax and capital gains tax.

Advances in Accounting and Finance (AAF)

The purpose of the module is to give the student the opportunity to carry out an in-depth study normally of an applied nature, synthesizing learning from other modules, yet pursuing one area in depth. More than any other part of a student’s programme, Level 3 allows greater scope for the expression of skills, knowledge and abilities and offers the chance to explore in depth a topical issue in Accounting or Finance. Students are required to prepare a report of 5000 words on a topic selected by each student or from a list set by the academic staff.
Principles of Economics (POE)

Business Mathematics and Statistics (BC06-1) (BMAS)

The module aims to provide the students with basics mathematical skills and essential statistical measures and application in business environment. The basics mathematical skills include simple business calculation of percentage, ratio, solution of equation and matrices and some mathematics of finance. The essential statistics includes classification and method data collection, organisation and presentation of data, measures of central tendency and dispersion, correlation and regression.

Principles of Marketing (P Mkt)
