IT Research Methods is a research oriented module which prepares students in handling independent research projects both as an essential requirement of the program as well as in managerial contexts. Through this module the students will understand the process and structure of research projects and learn to evaluate and utilize various methods of research.
Data and statistics are central to Data Science, providing the tools needed to analyze information, identify patterns, and support informed decision-making. This module focuses on advanced statistical methods and data analysis, with a strong emphasis on practical applications. Students will learn to process and summarize data, work with probability distributions, conduct statistical inference and hypothesis testing, and develop predictive and decision-making models. These skills are essential for addressing real-world challenges in cybersecurity and digital archiving, including risk assessment, anomaly detection, and threat forecasting. The module equips students to critically interpret data and apply statistical techniques to complex, data-driven problems.
In an organization information can be a strategic source of opportunity. Data Mining deals with the unearthing of hidden knowledge from large databases. This is closely linked to another important development - data warehousing, which focuses on supporting the analysis of data in a multidimensional way.
