Majan University College Student Advisory Council Elections Announcement 2024/2025
Dear Students,
Majan University College is pleased to announce the opening of candidacy applications for the Student Advisory Council (SAC) for the academic year 2024/2025. The candidacy application will be available online from 12:00 PM on Monday, 7th October 2024 until 4:30 PM on Thursday, 10th October 2024.
Students interested in running for the SAC are encouraged to carefully review the eligibility criteria listed below and then apply through the provided link.
Eligibility Criteria for Candidacy:
Candidacy is open to students enrolled in the Higher Diploma or Bachelor's programs who have completed at least one academic semester.
Applications must be submitted electronically through the Google form attached to this email by clicking on the provided link.
The election will be conducted under the supervision of the College's Election Committee.
Voting will take place electronically on 20th October 2024 from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
There are 17 primary seats available in the SAC, including the positions of President and Vice President. The student with the highest votes will assume the role of President, followed by the next highest as Vice President.
Only Omani full-time students are eligible to run for President and Vice President, while part-time students and those of other nationalities can run for the remaining 15 seats as council members.
Candidacy will be confirmed once the Election Committee approves the application according to the regulations outlined in the Student Advisory Councils Guidelines for Higher Education Institutions.
The list of candidates will be announced on Sunday, 13th October through the college’s social media channels.
Once your candidacy is approved, you may begin your campaign on campus, on social media, or through other means, provided you adhere to copyright and publication laws.
Candidates are encouraged to submit a 30-second video introducing themselves and outlining their future plans to the Marketing Department.
You may seek assistance from the Student Services and Alumni Relations Center for any campaign-related matters.

Enhance student activities at the college.
Promote the values of volunteer work.
Elevate the intellectual, artistic, social, and athletic aspects of student life.
Discuss student concerns and help find appropriate solutions.
Ineligibility for Candidacy:
Students in their final semester at the college.
Students with one or more academic warnings.
Students who have been subjected to disciplinary action or who have received disciplinary sanctions.
